I’ve written about Lou Lou’s before since that review Evelyn has only gotten better. A few of these blends are from her new Amusements, Travels and Curiosities Collection, I’ll note which are with a * and some are from her general collection. I’ve always found Lou Lou’s to be strong when it comes to gourmand perfumes, her staying power and throw are incredible but this new collection is just out of this world. I think she has truly found her niche when it comes to gourmands meet something different and interesting.
Lou Lou’s Soaps can be found on Etsy and she sells her perfumes in 3 different sizes. 5ml is either 8$ or 10$ for either Perfume Cabinet (layering notes & simple blends) or Limited Edition perfumes. 4ml (1 Dram) bottles for 5$ or 7$ again based on the same criteria. 5/8th dram samples come individually for 3$ or a sample set of 5 5/8th dram samples for 15$. She is always super generous when it comes to freebies and extras in her packages. She ships quickly and usually well within in TAT which is 7-14 days. I ordered these on the 14th of February and got them on the 29th. She was one day outside of her TAT and messaged me on Etsy asking me which 2 free bottles I’d like as an apology, which is incredibly kind and wonderful customer service.
Midway Treats* Caramel covered green apples, buttered popcorn, fried apple dumplings, salt water taffy, fluffy cotton candy, and a splash of fizzy citrus soda
First sniff is all bright green slightly sour apples and creamy oozy caramel. As I keep sniffing in bottle it is evolving to a something sweet yet salty and rich. On my skin the warmth from my body brings out a buttery smell along with more rich sweet apples. Dry on my skin is absolutely hot sweet caramel and buttery popcorn. The note list says cotton candy and fizzy soda and I don’t really get those at all but I’m okay with that. I like the caramel buttery scent that I’m left with. It smells exactly like a carnival does, fatty, rich, fried foods. The image below is perfect for what this smells like along with a big container filled with popcorn dripping in rich melty butter and salt.
Amelia Aurora warm and creamy vanillas, pink orchids, amber, and musk, a little benzoin
I wore Amelia Aurora all day today. I cannot rave about this enough. It is musky, warm and comforting. My skin amps the musk to the forefront but it is mellowed out by a super light floral scent but it isn’t FLORAL FLORAL. I think we all know by now I am not a fan of florals really at all. The vanilla is a beautiful grounding note that doesn’t make the musk get super overwhelming. I happen to be a huge fan of musks its strength only makes me love this more. It is so sultry and sexy. I put this on at 10am today and it is 10:oopm as a write this and I still smell it faintly on my wrists. That is an amazing amount of wear time and I’m so happy by that.
Daisy’s Blend French vanilla, vanilla cream, vanilla sugar, vanilla marshmallows, and vanilla oleoresin
Daisy’s Blend to me is everything I’d been hearing about it. It is a quintessential vanilla blend, so creamy, sugary, sweet. It is a super boozy, which totally fits the badass lady it was custom made for, in the bottle and I love it. I do find that sometimes vanilla blends can be saccharine but I don’t particularly get that with this. On my skin the vanilla goes a little burnt sugar caramel which is so delicious smelling. These like the rest of Lou Lou’s perfume amp up like crazy on my skin and the throw is incredible. As it has dried down I feel like I smell like I just cooked a giant batch of maple candies or vanilla bean belgian waffles with a bourbon maple syrup. (I should probably not do these write ups when I’m hungry.)
Madam Daisy* dark vanilla, spilled motor oil, black leather boots, hot skin musk, and pink cotton candy
Madam Daisy is so damn sexy. First sniff is all motor oil and leather and I’m a big of Lou Lou’s leather, I have it in my custom Enders Love Elixir from her and it is a very smooth rich leather without being cloying. On my skin a boozy vanilla comes out with something sweeter and you can definitely tell there is a little “just rolled in the sheets” musk but the musk isn’t overwhelming and it also isn’t as strong as the musk in Amelia Aurora. This seems like it would be AMAZING layered with the sweet but incense filled Carnival Crush.
Carnival Crush* Carnival Crush is a blend of sugared incense, cotton candy, and a warm carnival night full of passion. The incense accord includes notes of nag champa, warm spices, spikenard, sandalwood, red saffron, dragon’s blood, amber, vanilla infused patchouli, frankincense.
So sweet sugary incense, you do get quite a shot of cotton candy right off the bat mingling and swirling around with the amazing incense blend that Evelyn created just for this perfume. The sweetness of the cotton candy blends out the incense without dulling it. It is spicy, sexy and engulfing without being cloying. It is boozy on my skin and I smell what seems like dragon’s blood and something a little spicy maybe clove or peppercorns. I get a sweetness from the patchouli that is emerging and mingled with the vanilla that is coming out on the dry down. I think other than Amelia Aurora this is my favorite, this is a stunning blend that any incense fan will love. It’s incredible.
In the 8 months since I’ve been trying Lou Lou’s Soaps perfumes I must say this is her strongest collection yet. I said it earlier and I’ll say it again, I believe she has truly found her niche in blends and I look forward to more carnival, oddity, sexy meets gourmand perfumes from Evelyn.
Check out her shop, I promise it is so worth the price, the quality and the customer service that she gives each and every time. I’ve never been disappointed.
