I believe that Solstice Scents needs no long introduction as Angela creates some of the best Indie Perfumes you can get your hands on, in my humble opinion. I have yet to find a perfume I haven’t enjoyed immensely. You can purchase Solstice Scents via her website that I linked right there. As I’ve said before other than the scents themselves my favorite part of ordering from Solstice Scents is the work that goes into the general theme of the perfumes and the story of the Town of Foxcroft. All of the perfumes are themed around this fictional town of foxcroft and immerses you into this experience. You can chose between perfume oil and EDP’s (for some of the scents) and the prices vary by blend.
All of Solstice Scents perfumes are created from scratch and feature no stock scents. While they sell out quickly you can also get Burnishing Glaces (sprayable body oil), Body Ganaches (creamy lotion) and Whipped Soap.
They have a wonderful Facebook group which is filled with quick reviews from other consumers, information on restocks, and new releases. It is a great place filled with super friendly people!
OH!! I didn’t even mention the best part the turn around time unless there is a big release they are amazingly quick. On one order it was shipped out the very next day which is incredible!!!
Very fragrant and delicious blend of deep rich chocolate, a bit of raw cocoa and sweet juicy maraschino cherries.
In bottle, Cherry Cordial is all rich sweet chocolate with a nice creamy finish. If you continue to smell in bottle it gets a tart cherry kick. It is a true and realistic cherry and not at all medicinal. To me this smells like Christmas and I don’t mean trees or anything like that but I always use to have chocolate cherry candies around Christmas time, the kind with a maraschino cherry and a little vanilla cream inside a dark chocolate shell. On my skin while it is still drying down it is more tart cherry than chocolate, but not tart in a sour way. It fades down to a nice light cherry and chocolate smell. It isn’t the strongest scent on me but it is still really pleasant for when I don’t want something with crazy throw.
Wild seas, terror-tinged skin musk, soft spices, faint wood smoke and a mocking pleasurable sweetness.
In bottle, Tenebrous Mist is sweet and aquatic. It is a very refreshing and light scent while still have a subtle sweetness to it. On my skin, it is a little limey while wet, oceany and sweet. It is a sweet, zippy and just a little smoky. While it is dry and it musky, sweet and a little spicy. You know what this smells like? It smells like a viking, a sexy sexy viking. It smells like what I imagine Ragnar from Vikings smells like and I think that might make this my new favorite Solstice perfume, I want to slather myself into this daily. In fact, I think I will. I love the citrusy musk this turns into on my skin, the light smoke really works well with the rest of this.
Cherry Vanilla Ambrosia
Amber, Black Cherry, Maraschino Cherry, Deep Vanilla, Whipped Cream, Blood Orange EO & Sweet Orange EO
First sniff Cherry Vanilla Ambrosia is very robustly vanilla with deep rich cherries. It almost smells like a flavored marshmallow light and sweet. It has a rich warm scent that fits the citrusy orange smell that comes out as you continue sniffing. On my skin while wet the deep dark vanilla comes back out with sweet orange in the foreground. It reminds me of a layered meringue dessert. Warmed up and dry on my skin the warm amber and what I believe is a deep orange scent are the most prevalent.
I do really like this scent but my skin seems to eat it up and it fades pretty quickly. This doesn’t normally happen with Solstice perfumes so I’m surprised but everything reacts differently with skin chemistry so what can you do. I’ll be destashing this one.
Egyptian Musk, Honey & Frankincense
In bottle, Pharaoh is heavily incense. It’s a little peppery and sweet. As you continue to sniff it is rich and very honeyed. It blends two types of perfumes I love incense and sweet rich honey. On my skin the honey really comes out and it is so deep and true to life. As I’ve said before my skin amps musk so the incense blends out and the musk and honey are amped up. It is a pretty sexy scent. I’ve got to say I think this is one of my favorites. I think my only “complaint” is because of the type of ingredients used to make the perfume it is red and it can stain my skin a little and I can’t put it on the collar of my shirt like I like to do.
Dark chocolate violet ganache truffles topped with a violet-vanilla infused sugar
I happen to be one of those lucky people that violets do not smell like power or soap on. It also happens to be one of the only florals I actually like, it is just so deep and not overly FLORAL in scent. On first sniff in bottle it is a deep dark chocolate and is richly sugary. I don’t get a lot of the violets in bottle. On my skin I still don’t a super floral scent but I do get a little violet it doesn’t smell like violets the flower but it smells like these violet candies I’ve had before. The more it warms on my skin the more I get a strong violet tinged vanilla, a rich dark vanilla.
Amber, Frankincense, Sweet Incense Smoke, Dried Rose Petals, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Woods, Oud, Vanilla
Conjure dark is incense, incense and more incense. It is so smoky and it smells like a rich deep sexy mens cologne, not to say this isn’t unisex because I don’t really consider perfume to be a male or female thing. It has a warmth to it with a sweetness that backs it up. There is something floral in bottle I don’t particularly care for it smells like powdery rose but I don’t find that it hangs around for very long and it doesn’t show up on my skin. On my skin, it is smoky incense and it pretty spicy smelling. It reminds me of my Dad’s cologne actually, he’s worn the green bottle Polo for men for years. I find this scent very comforting and while it doesn’t seem like it would be a good bedtime perfume, for me it is. This scent is strong, it has throw and staying power. Dried down it is woody and I can tell there is absolutely Sandalwood in here and it is a little sweet. It is exactly the type of of spicy, woodsy, and warm perfumes I enjoy. I imagine that this one is spectacular as an Eau de Parfum.
I really like this one.
As always I hope you’ve enjoyed my review and I’d love to hear your thoughts on these if you’ve tried them as well. If you haven’t Solstice Scent does offer sample packs which is a great way to try her offerings, they also offer samples of their EDP’s.
