Siberie Perfume is one of those brands that I’ve heard so much about but I’ve sat on these samples for so long. I’d gotten them some time back, I sniffed them when they arrived and I set them aside to rest as I do with most things I receive. I try and rest my perfumes from their travels for at least 1-2 weeks and unfortunately sometimes they just get set aside and life gets in the way. I had taken a break from blogging due to working and our move to Los Angeles but as I’m sure you’ve been able to see I’m back at it and I’ve missed it, so with that I’m making sure my blog is no longer neglected.
Siberie Perfume is a Canadian based Indie Perfume brand. The owner of Siberie is a certified aromatherapist, and with that certification she combines her knowledge of aromatherapy and the foundations of ancient perfumery. Her motto is Indulgent, decadent, you and I believe that translates well into her brand.
I have 5 different samples to review, 3 from her Vikings Collection, as well as Odette and Rasputin which I picked based on notes.
Bjorn fresh ocean, sea salt, birch, vetiver and cedarwood
Bjorn in bottle is so light and perfectly salt watery with a little hint of something lightly woody. It doesn’t have the typical metallic twinge I get from a lot of aquatics that triggers headaches for me. While wet on my skin it is still light and refreshing. I can smell the cedar and it mixes nicely with the salty fresh ocean scent. Dried down my skin it is very warm and woodsy. I can smell murky earthy vetiver now.
Bjorn is very nice, all though it doesn’t translate into a full bottle purchase for me.
Odette honeysuckle, rain, jasmine sambac, honey
Odette in bottle is a lightly sweet and girly with a touch of powdery florals. Wet on my skin it smells like crystalized honey with a touch of a floral infused buttercream. Dried down it does lean a little soapy but jasmine tends to do that and it fades off quickly into what I feel is a very pretty girly scent.
Odette would transfer into a dram sized bottle for me if I was able to purchase it, since Siberie sells in 15ml bottles I don’t think I’d buy more of this. I like it but I don’t love it.
Ragnar absinthe, fresh dirt, leather, pine, oakmoss, vetiver, musk
Whatever leather note is in Ragnar instantly gave me an awful headache and I was unable to smell any more of him, unfortunately. It so rarely happens like that for me with perfume but Ragnar did not like me at all.
Rasputin bourbon, smoke, patchouli, bergamont, amber, dark musk
Rasputin is pure dark sensual musk and bright citrus while still being warm and comforting. It’s smoky and a little green. It has such a wonderful balance between a warmth and fresh green without being grass type of green. On my skin while still wet it’s warm amber and muskiness. Once it dries down a spice emerges and somehow mellows out what I believe is patchouli and the amber musk.
I really like Rasputin, this might be a full size purchase for me since I feel it has elements of a musky/smoky patch perfume that I don’t already have in my collection that I wear regularly.
Rollo frankincense, myrrh, cedar, musk, woods
Best way to describe Rollo from the second I smell it, sexy SEXY man. Cologne and sweet musky man. It’s crisp and earthy. From every stage of testing on my skin, Rollo stays sexy mens aftershave which I just so happen to really love.
Another maybe on a full size purchase.
Rollo sounds right up my alley. And since I gave away my Sans Des Dragons, I need that too.
Great reviews!
