To start off 2017 and my hopeful year of blogging, I wanted to chat about CBD and an amazing Bath & Body and Wax Tart company Cosmic Cleanse. This post will specifically be about the infused (cbd) miracle budders and sugar scrub, I’ll do a separate one for wax tarts soon.
I want to go into what CBD is and what health benefits it can have before I go into the actual product itself. I will start off by saying I am a medical marijuana patient and I do find that I have had a greater quality of life since starting the use of it. CBD is different than Cannabis and I hope this post other than the review of the product will help you with the difference.
Cannabidiol is a chemical compound found inside the resin glands (trichomes) of a female cannabis plant. These chemical compounds are known as cannabinoids. These cell receptors make up a larger endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system helps control everything from mood, cognition, movement, appetite, immune response, sleep, ovulation, and sperm development. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning you won’t get “high” or feel stoned. It will have affects on your body but it won’t send you down happy rainbow bridge into highland. The cannabinoid activates receptors such as vanilloid, adenosine, and serotonin receptors.
Just within recent years CBD has been shown to help with the following ailments and more;
- Motor disorders
- Nicotine addiction
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Chronic and neuropathic pain
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Fibromyalgia (click here for a study on patients with Fibro and using CBD to treat)
CBD doesn’t have to be smoked either. You can find it in capsules, tinctures, and commonly mixed with coconut oil as a carrier. Which is exactly what Cosmic Cleanse does in their body budders. For 12$ for 6oz you get approximately 600mg of CBD in each jar of their miracle body budders in all sorts of amazing scents, scent listing. Cosmic Cleanse opens for preorder releases and is not open all the time with ready to ship product. The next preorder is from January 13th-15th where there will be both limited and unlimited preorders of different products. Every product can be purchased as infused, only the unicorn ashes bath crumbles are always infused. Getting a product infused doesn’t add any additional cost. Each release also includes new products and sometimes new scents.
Ingredients: Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil, Grape seed Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Fragrance or Essential Oils, and Vitamin E. CBD is located in the Coconut Oil.
For my budder review I’m going to go over the scent, consistency, absorbability, and how well I find the infused nature of it works for me. (As with many things results may vary).
I purchased my two budders (12$) and one sugar scrub (13$) on 11/25 with a estimated TAT of 6-9 weeks but Heidi the owner had these and wax tarts completed in 4 weeks. I believe I received mine on 12/23. I do live about an hour away from the owner so I got it the day after it was shipped, yay! I did also purchase wax which I’ll review in a different post. Shipping is a flat 11$ no matter what your order size is.
I got my budders in the scents Bibbitty Bobbitty Boo, Crunch-a-tize me and the scrub in Alicorn.
Bibbitty Bobbitty Boo is Captain Crunch Berries, Jelly Doughnuts, and Sugar Cookie.
Bibbitty is the first of the budders I used and it is a cereal and bakery scent. The Captain Crunch is strong but not overwhelming, you get a nice fruity bakery note mixed in as well. The scent does cling to your body a bit but not so much that I feel it would overwhelm others or perfume.
Crunch-a-tize me is Captain Crunch Berries x Tea and Cakes.
Can you tell I like cereal blends? The tea and cakes adds a nice richness to this scent, steeped tea with a nice ol’ slab of cake.
Alicorn is Pomegranate, Fizz & Fruit Loop.
Alicorn is super fizzy! I get mostly pomegranate and other zesty fruits. It is totally different than I would normal go for in a scrub. I love how fresh and fizzy it is. I imagine this would make amazing wax!
Consistency & Absorbability
One of the most important things to me with a lotion is that it isn’t greasy OR too thick. Cosmic Cleanse is a lighter formula but is super moisturizing. It is a bit looser but it isn’t liquidy. It soaks into the skin well and doesn’t require you to rub it in too much. I do have very dry skin and it leaves my arms or wherever else I’m applying it feeling moisturized. The scent does stay behind but not so overpowering. It is definitely there if you sniff your arm.
The sugar scrub is so SCRUBY! It doesn’t foam when you wet it like some vendors it reminds me of Villainess Soaps Smooch. It really feels like it exfoliates and moisturizes. I love that it isn’t a whipped sugar scrub because I want it more for exfoliation purposes. It leaves behind a strong scent and leaves your skin with a super soft feeling. I got mine with the normal amount of glitter and shimmer but you can get it in different levels with the most being Edward Cullen level. It leaves behind a light shimmer which is really nice.
Last week when I began testing these products for review I happened to have a sore back and elbow from all the Christmas cooking and activities I was doing with my parents and sister while they were visiting. So I applied a good amount to my arms, neck and I had my husband apply some to my lower back and a little while later the tension and soreness faded away. I am impressed by how well and quickly it worked.
Overall, I must say I’m a huge fan of the products I’ve tried so far and I’m stoked to try more on the next preorder. If you aren’t comfortable with the infused versions like I got I definitely recommend trying the non-infused versions of the products just so you can see the high quality.
You can see what products will be available on January 13-15th currently on the website and they’ll list if they are a limited preorder or not as well as the scents available for each product. Cosmic Cleanse products.
Till next time!
