Hey ya’ll! This past week PÜR was offering a $20 mystery grab bag with free shipping, I couldn’t pass it up. I’m a sucker for a good mystery box and PÜR tends to make quality items at least the little bit that I’ve tried over the years. I also found a coupon thanks to the ladies on /r/BeautyBoxes on Reddit for $5 off making the box $15 total.
I ordered it on January 25th and got it on January 30th (yesterday by the time this posts). So I’m already impressed with the quick TAT (turn around time)
Heres what I got in my box;
Au Naturel Glowing Days and Smoldering Nights – $29 from Ulta’s website. (I can’t find if this is vegan or not, the ingredient list doesn’t have anything that would indicate it not being vegan, same as the Mascara it has ingredients that may or may not be derived from animals) This does swatch fairly nicely. The mattes are a little chalky and less pigmented but I didn’t notice a lot of fallout, they did build nicely on my arm but I did not test them on my lid or with primer, these swatches are without a primer. The metallics swatched a bit better and had a nicer texture, smoother.
Crease Cease Eye Shadow Primer – $18 .3 oz/10 g from PUR website. (NOT VEGAN, it contains carmine) I’ll be giving this item away since I’m no longer using non-vegan items.
Eye Shadow Brush – $17 from PUR website. I couldn’t find the exact brush but a similar eyeshadow brush was $17. (NOT VEGAN but they state it is made of all-natural, cruelty-free goat, sable and pony hair. I’ll be giving this away as well.)
Mineral Eye Defining Pencil with Smudger – $17 from PUR website. I got this in a baby pink color, I could see if being nice for the waterline to brighten up your eyes and make them look larger. (NOT VEGAN, it contains carmine, giving this away as well)
Big Look Mascara – $21 from PUR website. (It MAY be vegan but it has ingredients that could not be and without their website saying the ingredients aren’t derived from animals I’ll be passing this along as well)
Total Value $102
Unfortunately, while it is a GREAT VALUE for the $15 I spent on the box. I won’t be using any of the items and giving them away to a friend of mine instead. I personally have made the decision for myself to only use vegan & cruelty-free makeup/skincare items. I wrongly assumed that a company whose schtick is “PURE” cosmetics that they would be. They do state that all their products are cruelty-free so it is up to you.
